My Services.

I work with individuals 14 and over dealing with trauma, anxiety, and depression. I offer social justice-informed therapy. I would love to champion you on your journey to understand your own capacity to heal. You are taking an important step by deciding to access mental health support. My practice is a non-judgemental space for all. You can do it; I can help.

Trauma-Focused Therapy.

Let’s face it, we all experience trauma (both big T and little t trauma) of some kind. There is no one way to react to trauma.

Complex trauma can permeate every aspect of life. Your interpersonal relationships may be among the most impacted. You may deal with intrusive dreams, jumpiness, difficulty establishing trust, communication issues, and lack of self-care.

I offer an integrative approach to healing. Utilizing the ACE assessment tool, we focus on the areas where you feel stuck. Understanding how your nervous system responds to situations can help you heal from past trauma and gain tools for coping with triggering situations. We utilize cognitive processing, breath-work, grounding activities, and guided mindfulness to help you heal.

Anxiety.

You have constant recurring thoughts of fear and worry. Your patterns of stress and anxiety are getting in your way and distracting you from living your life fully. Perhaps you struggle falling asleep because all the things you worry about rush into your head at bedtime. Instances of clammy, sweaty palms, and pounding heart are very common for you.

Perhaps the lack of sleep and excessive worry are severely impacting your work performance. Maybe your interpersonal relationships have suffered greatly. And, your self-care is minimal or non-existent.

The decision to pursue therapy can be scary. It takes a lot of courage to be vulnerable with a stranger. However, therapy can help you break the cycle of anxiety and stress. You can learn to understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact. By identifying your goals and values, you are equipped to choose behaviors that are adaptive.

My approach to treating anxiety involves a partnership with you. We explore factors that contribute to your anxiety, including how your nervous system responds to cues of danger. We examine your core beliefs, your internal narrative, and how anxiety impacts you. I can teach you grounding activities, breath-work, and relaxation techniques that you can do on your own. Understanding your anxiety will help you reclaim your power and live your life on your own terms.

Depression.

Have you noticed that you’re more lethargic than usual? Maybe your sleep, appetite, or interpersonal interactions have become disrupted. You can’t think clearly and you feel stuck. You may notice irritability and dissatisfaction with life more than in the past.

The things you previously loved just don’t seem interesting anymore. You find it difficult to do basic everyday tasks and you feel worn out. You have no motivation and your energy is low. Perhaps you are feeling sad and empty most days.

Depression impacts every aspect of life. Your self-esteem, confidence, and ability to trust yourself all suffer. Your job, relationship, and your responsibilities take a hard hit.

Are you ready to do something about it? Are you ready to regain your energy and connection to others? You don’t have to live with crushing depression. Things can be different. I can help you explore factors that contribute to the depression. We can work on untangling the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. We can also explore your goals and values to help build new patterns, and then work with your patterns and stuck points to learn how to interact with emotions more effectively. We focus on your strength and resilience to overcome these challenges.
